Mindfulness Week

What does Mindfulness Week include?

Our Mindfulness Week program has been developed over the course of several years and includes a week of events covering a wide range of topics. We believe a strong start to kicking off your Mindfulness program sets the stage for adoption and success. This Mindfulness Week program can also be offered independently outside of our Corporate Memberships as a turnkey addition to your wellness program. All sessions include an open period for conversational Q&A. 

  • What is Mindfulness? 

    • Jay Rinsen Weik, founder of Toledo Mindfulness Institute, will lead a one hour talk about the benefits and practices of mindfulness. A lunch and learn format is recommended.

  • Silent Meditation

    • TMI faculty will lead an hour conversation about the practice of silent meditation and it’s benefits. This includes a 15 minute silent meditation and Q&A. 

  • Guided Meditation

    • TMI faculty will discuss the various practices used in our guided meditation sessions. This includes a 15 minute guided meditation and Q&A. 

  • Mindful Eating

    • Today’s busy lifestyle has often led to struggles with food and weight. Mindful eating returns us to the focused practice of eating with awareness. We recommend a lunch and learn style conversation for this one hour session which includes a 15 minute guided mindful eating practice and Q&A. 

  • Mindful Walking

    • Bringing the practice of mindfulness to movement, our mindful walking course can be done in person (if conditions allow) or virtually, followed by a walk through your facility or outdoors. This includes a 30 minute conversation about the benefits of mindful walking and Q&A.

TMI Faculty

About TMI Faculty

The Toledo Mindfulness Institute faculty have over 100 years of combined meditation practice. Founder Jay Rinsen Weik had been practicing for four decades with teachers in the Boston and New York areas before staring the institute in 2017. Our faculty come from diverse backgrounds in education, psychology, law, and corporate fields.

Jay Rinsen Weik and Michael Leizerman co-authored the book The Mindful Lawyer in 2018 and lead a Mindful Law seminar each summer. Anthony Fontana has been working to develop our Corporate offerings at Owens Corning where he is IT Leader. Jenn McCullough leads the Mindfulness program for Toledo Public Schools and offers Mindfulness in Education courses with TMI.
